During this difficult time, we know it’s very important for you to look after both yourself and your pets. Love’em put together a list of FAQs to help guide you.
Are your factories operational?
We would like to take this opportunity to assure you that our pet food manufacturing factories will continue to operate as part of Australia’s essential food supply chain.
Do you have stock available?
Our dedicated team at love’em are working hard to keep our retailers in stock. We are also following all recommended practices for employee health and safety.
Can I catch coronavirus from my pet?
So far there is no evidence of people catching the disease from their pet. So unless you are sick, there is no need to stop interacting with your pet.
Can my pet catch coronavirus?
The chance of your pet catching Coronavirus disease is very small. There are very few cases of pets catching the disease worldwide.
What can i do to protect myself and my pet?
Follow the advice from the World Health Organization:
- Maintain social distancing
- Wash your hands frequently
- Avoid touching your nose, mouth and eyes
- Cover your face with a tissue or use your elbow when you cough or sneeze
What should I do with my pet if I get sick?
Take extra precautions around your pet if you are sick. Wash your hands before and after touching your pet, and if possible, isolate yourself.
How can i prepare for a lockdown?
To ensure your pet’s well-being during a lockdown, you should make sure:
- All your pet’s vaccinations are up to date
- You’ve checked your pet for any lumps that need to be seen by your vet
- You have enough pet medications and treatments
- You also have enough pet food to last for an extended period
Can I still take my dog for a walk?
You must follow the restrictions in your area however, if you are allowed, it’s a great idea for you and your dog to go for a walk. Make sure you practice social distancing while you walk and stay 1.5 metres away from others.
What if my pet needs medical attention?
If you have concerns about your pet’s health, please call your vet as soon as possible for a consultation. Vets are considered essential services and are still open.
